Lan holds a M.Ed. in Education and a B.A. in Arts from the University of Alberta. Lan has been the Research Facilitator, Research Services Office, University of Alberta since 2003. She remains connected to the immigrant and multicultural communities in different capacities. She is an active volunteer for a number of committees, boards and events. Initiatives involved in includes Chinatown heritage and multicultural projects and events.
